The official ostensible story about the creation of Blizzard Beach centers around a freak snow storm. As the snow melted around Florida's first ski lodge, designers saw an alligator sliding down the slopes. This gave them the idea of turning the ski jumps and slopes into water rides.
Blizzard Beach's main attraction is the Summit Plummet, the world's tallest and fastest free-fall slide. There are 18 other water based attractions including toboggan runs, flumes and slides. There's also a beach.
